NASHVILLE, TENN. – Groundbreaking country artist Lily Rose stays pushing boundaries, showcasing how far the genre can go today with a red hot new Diplo collaboration, “Sad In The Summer,” track No. 1 on his highly anticipated album Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2 – Swamp Savant available everywhere now.

“It’s pretty surreal to me that I’m not only part of Diplo’s new project, but featured on track number one,” shares Rose. “I spun the hell outta his first country collab project and it’s a huge honor to get to say I’m on the second one. Massive thank you to Diplo and the whole team for making this bucket list moment happen!”

Written by Rose with labelmate Griffen Palmer, Geoff Warburton, Ben Johnson, Diplo, King Henry and Picard Brothers, “Sad In The Summer” finds Rose holding on to the fleeting joy of both the summer season and a seasonal relationship, desperate for a love to last as the year cools down. The track showcases Rose’s buttery vocals mixed to perfection over a signature Diplo beat.

“Sad In The Summer” drops just before Rose hits the stage at California’s highly-anticipated Stagecoach Music Festival on April 29. Diplo will also make his third appearance at the festival with his “Late Night in Palomino” festival closer while also curating his own stage, Diplo’s HonkyTonk, all weekend long.

Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2 – Swamp Savant also includes collaborations with Dove Cameron, Sturgill Simpson reborn as Johnny Blue Skies, Paul Cauthen, Sierra Ferrell, Morgan Wade, Parker McCollum, Kodak Black, and Koe Wetzel.

Rose started the year strong with sold-out headlining shows nationwide and made her television debut with a performance of “Whatcha Know About That” at the 2023 CMT Awards. She’s on the bill for some of the summer’s hottest fairs and festivals before joining Sam Hunt’s Summer On The Outskirts Tour and wrapping her year on Shania Twain’s Queen of Me Tour.

ABOUT LILY ROSE

Words like “groundbreaking” and “trailblazing” are often overused. But for Big Loud Records / Back Blocks Music and Republic Records country star Lily Rose, they may actually be an understatement. The modern expression of country’s most treasured ideal – pure, unflinching honesty – her debut hit “Villain” has revealed Rose as a talent both 100-percent unique and utterly relatable, with a fresh perspective and forward-looking sound. A Georgia native whose inspirations range from Bruce Springsteen to Keith Urban and Katy Perry, Rose broke out in 2020 with the viral smash, “Villain.” Both vulnerable and defiant with a boundary pushing country-meets-R&B sound, the track hit No. 1 on the iTunes all-genre chart and SiriusXM’s The Highway Hot 30 Weekend Countdown, leading to her new, ten-song project, Stronger Than I Am. In 2022, Rose was nominated for ACM New Female Artist of the Year and recognized for Outstanding Breakthrough Artist at the 2022 GLAAD Media Awards. Rose kicked off 2023 with a headlining tour that featured sold-out shows across the country and gears up to join Sam Hunt for his Summer On The Outskirts Tour before appearing on Shania Twain’s Queen of Me Tour in the fall. With her focus firmly on integrity, Rose’s bold mix of personal lyricism and distinctive language meets the hooky sonics of a post-genre fanbase, as pure-country confessions merge with hip-hop beats and R&B flow – plus representation where there was none before. All told, it gives new credence to her “groundbreaking” label.
