IN COLLABORATION WITH RANGE MEDIA PARTNERS
DEBUT EP NO BETTER TIME OUT NOW, FEATURING BREAKOUT HIT “COAL”
AUSTIN, TEXAS – Officially announcing today, rapidly rising 24-year-old Texas singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Dylan Gossett has signed with Big Loud Texas / Mercury Records in collaboration with Range Media Partners. This announcement follows the recent release of his debut EP No Better Time last month and growing buzz surrounding his hit single “Coal.”
Tyler Arnold, President of Mercury Records, says, “I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Dylan into the Mercury family. He’s an incredible artist and songwriter, and it’s been a really memorable process getting to know him over the last few months. We truly believe he’s going to be a game changing artist for this generation.”
Miranda Lambert, Partner, Big Loud Texas shares, “When I first heard Dylan’s song ‘Coal,’ I played it a few times because I wanted to catch all the ways he was sharing his life with us. To write and deliver something that is complex yet elegant lyrically and to also make it vulnerable is an art. After Jon [Randall] and I spent time with Dylan, we both agreed he is an artist Big Loud Texas was created to champion and support.”
Seth England, CEO / Partner, Big Loud, states, “Dylan’s the kind of artist we are passionate about developing and investing in at Big Loud—a songwriter’s songwriter and incredible vocal talent who’s got something compelling to say through his music. Thrilled to have him as the flagship artist launching our newest venture, Big Loud Texas, and honored to be part of telling his story.”
Matt Graham, Managing Partner, Range Media Partners, comments, “After releasing ‘Coal,’ Sam Katz, Federico Morris, and I quickly realized we wanted to find the right kind of partner to jump in and help amplify the velocity of the song and clear a path for a unique artist who clearly draws his inspiration from his Texas country roots, but showed a clear desire to cross genres and have global appeal. Mercury and Big Loud have both shown an ability to do this with their clients. The idea really appealed to Dylan, particularly when the opportunity to be the first artist on Big Loud Texas was put forward as a possibility. We couldn’t be happier with how it’s come together, and look forward to a tremendous partnership on a genre breaking artist.”
Written, recorded, produced, and mixed by Gossett himself in his bedroom, No Better Time showcases the breadth of the Austin native’s talents. The EP includes the viral phenomenon “Coal,” which has gathered over 50 million streams to date. It recently climbed to #35 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs Chart and #24 on Billboard‘s Country Digital Song Sales Chart, as well as cracked the Top 5 on Spotify’s Global and US Viral 50 Charts and peaked at #14 on the iTunes Country Chart and #36 on the All Genres Chart shortly after its release. No Better Time, which debuted at #7 on Billboard‘s Heatseekers Albums Chart this week, also features fan favorites “Beneath Oak Trees” and “Flip A Coin.”
Following recent tour dates with Wyatt Flores and Brent Cobb and a performance of the National Anthem at the F1 US Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, Gossett has a slew of tour dates planned with Kolby Cooper and Luke Grimes to round out the rest of the year. Next year, he will make his first festival appearances at SXSW in Austin and Two Step Inn in Georgetown, as well as open for Midland on select dates. See the full list of upcoming tour dates below.
Growing up in Austin, Dylan Gossett first picked up a guitar in middle school, teaching himself via YouTube and thanks to tips from his big brother. In between listening to classics from Alan Jackson, George Strait, Journey, The Eagles, Scorpions, and Boston with his family, he immersed himself in the records by Turnpike Troubadours, Flatland Cavalry, and Cody Johnson. Throughout his college years at Texas A&M University, he never stopped playing and singing. Passionate about Formula 1, Dylan took a job with Circuit of the Americas. In spring 2023, he began experimenting with posting his music online. He shared a rendition of The Lumineers’ “Ophelia” and eventually wound up gaining traction with a cover of Flatland Cavalry. As summertime rolled around, he caught fire with his independent debut single “To Be Free.” No doubt fueled by the “weed and gasoline” line, it exploded on TikTok and amassed nearly six million Spotify streams to date. However, his song “Coal” catalyzed his breakthrough.

ABOUT DYLAN GOSSETT
Dylan Gossett’s songs instantly leave an imprint. The Austin, TX-born singer and songwriter makes a mark with dusty instrumentation, gravelly vocal delivery, and emotionally vulnerable lyrics. Right off the bat, lines like “They say pressure makes diamonds. How the hell am I still coal?” and “Smells like weed and gasoline” come to mind. Guitar in hand and heart wide open, he writes every tune by himself and sings straight from the soul with no pretense and no filter. Throughout his college years at Texas A&M University, he never stopped playing guitar and singing. As summertime rolled around, he caught fire with his independent debut single “To Be Free.” No doubt fueled by the “weed and gasoline” line, it exploded on TikTok and amassed nearly 6 million Spotify streams. However, his viral hit “Coal” catalyzed his breakthrough. It’s tallied over 50 million streams to date, while Billboard professed, “’Coal’ and ‘To Be Free’ position Gossett as a formidable, heart-on-his-sleeve singer-songwriter with immense potential.” He recently introduced his next chapter with the single “Beneath Oak Trees” from his debut EP No Better Time, out now via Big Loud Texas / Mercury Records.
