John Byron is a Nashville-based songwriter whose compelling storytelling and melodic sensibilities have made him one of country music’s most sought-after collaborators. A Brentwood, Tennessee native and Belmont University graduate, Byron began writing songs at age 15 after his grandfather introduced him to guitar chords and encouraged him to write his first song, “My Old Man.” A pivotal moment came during an open mic night at Puckett’s in Leiper’s Fork, where Byron saw firsthand the emotional impact of his songwriting on an audience—a moment that solidified his calling as a songwriter. In 2020, Byron signed a publishing deal with Big Loud. Since then, he has co-written numerous hits across country and pop genres. His first cut was “865” on Morgan Wallen’s recording breaking Dangerous: The Double Album. Which was named #1 album of the 21st century by Billboard. John’s breakout success came with Wallen’s “Last Night,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 non-consecutive weeks in 2023, becoming the year’s No. 1 song and one of the biggest hits of the decade. Byron was named a Variety hitmaker in back to back years 2023 & 2024. Byron followed up this achievement with earning a CMA Triple Play for penning 3 #1 songs in a calendar year. “Thinkin Bout Me”, Pour Me A Drink by Post Malone & Blake Shelton, and Love Somebody by Morgan Wallen. Byron continues to shape the sound of modern country music while expanding into pop and crossover collaborations. John just earned his 3rd Billboard Hot 100 #1 with Morgan and Tate McRae’s “What I Want”. This marks John’s 6th #1 song. His other songwriting credits include Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco, Charlie Puth, Jelly Roll, Thomas Rhett, HARDY, John Legend, Chase Rice, Dylan Scott and more.
