Florida Georgia Line to host new American Country Countdown Awards
Florida Georgia Line has plenty of experience on award stages after numerous accolades for their monster hit “Cruise,” but as hosts of the American Country Countdown Awards, the country duo has less background to rely on.“We’ve hosted a couple of pool parties at my house before,” joked singer Tyler Hubbard.Hubbard and Brian Kelley, who arrived on the scene two years ago with the high-spirited, multiplatinum record “Here’s to the Good Times” will host the Dec. 15 awards show live from Nashville, Tennessee. The first-time hosting gig is an opportunity to show a bit more of their personalities after they release their second album, “Anything Goes,” in October. Kelley said he was excited about the challenge of live television.“To prepare for it, we’re going to get with the writers and make it kind of our own,” Kelley said. “To let our personalities shine through and make some jokes of our own.”The awards show, to air on Fox, is based on the syndicated radio program “American Country Countdown With Kix Brooks,” on Cumulus Media stations.
