You know it’s almost time for summer when the country tours start kicking off. One of the first tours to launch was Florida Georgia Line’s much-anticipated Dig Your Roots Tour, which opened last night in Mississippi.
Tupelo was just one of many cities Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard will “Cruise” through during their summer run. Before the tour kicked off, however, the two were hard at work preparing a tour that would blow their fans’ minds.
“I think this tour, it’s just bigger and better,” Kelley told Sounds Like Nashville earlier this week. “To be here, it’s all about the fans. We’re trying to make this bigger and better and more entertaining for the fans, so it’s going to be amazing. We’ve got a different vibes, a couple different vibes we’re gonna take the fans throughout the sets and let them experience how we grew up and what we like a little bit more this year.”
The Florida native said that even he and Hubbard were dumbfounded by the scale of their show.
“We showed up the other day and we were like, ‘Damn, I guess we are kinda in the big leagues now,’” he said with a laugh. “I say that humbly because it took us a long time to get here. We were the ones riding the Tahoe, driving ourselves to gigs and putting a whole bunch of debt on our credit cards to buy merch and to buy gas, so we can make it to the gigs.”
The Dig Your Roots Tour is going on now through Oct. 22. Cole Swindell, The Cadillac Three and Kane Brown will also be along for the ride throughout the summer.
