NASHVILLE, TENN. – After announcing her headlining The Stages Tour earlier this week, multi-Platinum Country superstar Lauren Alaina releases new better-than-revenge anthem “Better Off” from her forthcoming album Stages, due August 28.
“I wrote “Better Off” from the perspective of a girl who finally realizes she didn’t lose anything by being cheated on…in a lot of ways, she ended up much better off. It’s full of sass and attitude, but underneath it all, it’s really about growth and knowing your worth,” shares Alaina. “I’m in such a beautiful season of life now with my husband and daughter, and this song feels like finally closing the door on a different stage of my life.”
Written by Alaina alongside Joe Fox, Matt Jenkins and Josh Miller, the new country-rock anthem has a clever twist in the chorus. Alaina sings:

Her forthcoming album Stages, produced by hitmakers Joey Moi and Ben Johnson, chronicles the defining chapters of Alaina’s life with the lyrical candor she’s known for, and signature powerhouse vocals. Over the course of the album, she explores coming of age and sowing wild oats on Nashville’s Lower Broadway to starting a family and much more. The project builds on the momentum of chart-climbing “All My Exes (feat. Chase Matthew),” the smash that earned Alaina the biggest first-week streaming numbers of her career and was twice most-added at country radio, and anthemic new jam, “Raining Whiskey.”
Alaina’s headlining The Stages Tour beginning this fall will spotlight every era of her career, blending new music with the fan-favorite anthems that have defined her rise. Support across select dates will include rising artists Shane Profitt, Ashley Kutcher, and Hannah Harper.
