It’s been a whirlwind couple weeks for rising country star Chris Lane. The singer has not only notched his very first No.1 song with “Fix,” but has also released his debut album, Girl Problems. Along with these incredible firsts, he’s spent much of the summer on a major tour with Rascal Flatts and Kelsea Ballerini. Talk about an impressive summer!
The North Carolina native has come a long way since he first started working towards his dream of becoming a country singer. Sounds Like Nashville caught up with Lane in Nashville’s Acme Feed & Seed to talk about how far he’s come and reflect on where he’s been.
“It’s truly crazy because I’ve wandered these streets when I was a cover band, you know, not ever thinking that it would get to this point,” Lane explained as he pointed to Lower Broadway from the Acme rooftop bar. “I came for CMA Fest one year and I was just a fan. I wasn’t playing. I was just walking around looking at all the performances. I stood right there up on that bridge and I couldn’t afford to get in to stadium over there so I stood on the bridge. I remember I could see like a small window of Jason Aldean on the screen and he was playing in the stadium for CMA Fest and I just thought ‘how cool is that?’”
It likely won’t be much longer before Lane gets his shot to play in Nissan Stadium during CMA Fest as he quickly becomes a household name.
“Just a small town guy who certainly never thought any of this was going to happen, that’s for sure. And now, here we are,” he said.
