Review: Chris Lane puts on high-energy show at The Paramount

Country singer Chris Lane performed at The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island on December 11, as part of Dustin Lynch’s “Hell of a Night” tour.

Lane shared the stage with fellow country singer Tyler Rich, as well as headliner Dustin Lynch.

A North Carolina native, Lane opened his show with the upbeat and rocking “Broken Windshield View,” as the stage was graced in white, red and blue lights. It was followed by “Cool” and the spitfire “Saturday Night,” as blue and green laser lights dimmed from the stage.

Lane covered Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” and he praised the Long Island crowd for “sounding good” mid-way through the song. He encouraged his fans to put a drink in their hands, and to sing the inspirational Journey classic “Don’t Stop Believin'” with him, and they did. “Ya’ll sound amazing,” he said, prior to singing Kiss’ “Rock and Roll All Nite.”

“Put your hands together,” he said, and he covered such tunes as Katy Perry’s “Firework” and Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.” “Thanks for singing along,” Lane added.

“Her Own Kind of Beautiful” was mid-tempo and a great deal of fun, while “Let Me Love You” was a more emotional yet powerful vocal performance. “Who is ready to see my boy Dustin Lynch tonight?” he asked, prior to complimenting Tyler Rich for opening the show for them.

It was followed by another new song from his brand new EP entitled “For Her,” where he displayed his impressive falsetto. This tune would make an excellent choice for a future radio single for Lane.

He covered ‘N Sync’s “Bye Bye Bye,” Jason Derulo’s “Want You To Want Me,” as well as The Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way,” which was his highlight cover song of the evening. Lane closes with his debut radio single “Fix.”

The Verdict

Overall, Chris Lane was superb at The Paramount on Long Island. His set was high-energy and very fun; moreover, the cover songs were an added bonus. He deserves to become the next big male country superstar. His live show earned 4.5 out of 5 stars.
