NASHVILLE, TENN. (June 11, 2021) – Big Loud Records’ MULTI-PLATINUM singer/songwriter ERNEST takes fans on a tour of his hometown with the official music video for “American Rust,” out now. The Nashville native visits his significant Music City spots – like the baseball field where he grew up playing – in the clip, directed by Justin Clough.

ERNEST hits his own hallowed ground mentioned in the song’s nostalgic lyrics including an old church and a Chevrolet. Doubling down on the track’s personal message, he proves there’s no place like home with an appearance from his wife, Delaney, filmed just before welcoming their son, Ryman Saint.

“American Rust” follows ERNEST’s timeless toast “Cheers,” plus his fourth #1 hit as a songwriter – “Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90’s” (Sam Hunt). Topping the charts with writing credits on RIAA GOLD “I Love My Country” (Florida Georgia Line), RIAA PLATINUM “More Than My Hometown” (Morgan Wallen) and RIAA PLATINUM “Big, Big Plans” (Chris Lane), he also co-penned 11 songs on Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album, establishing himself as one of Music Row’s most sought-after songwriters.

Check out this week’s episode of his “Just Being ERNEST” podcast, where he welcomes back fan-favorite guest and labelmate, HARDY.
