NASHVILLE, TENN. / AUSTIN, TEXAS  – Today Big Loud Texas band The Droptines deliver new song Tombstone adding to what Rolling Stone defines as “a wildly prolific catalog they are hell-bent on sharing at every concert.”

“’Tombstone’ is a fun runaway pop punk/Americana hybrid,” the band shares. “If you’re driving 55 when the song starts, you’ll be doing 90 halfway through.”

Living between the lines of Americana and rock and roll, or alt-Americana, the new song reflects the romantic dream of running away with a lover: I wanna see you in sunshine / leave this hole of a hometown behind. “Tombstone” was written by lead singer Conner Arthur and produced by Jon Randall and Jacob Sciba.

With each new release, the band’s acclaim continues to grow. Their first release out via Big Loud Texas, “Take Too Much,” Billboard characterized as “a primal fusion of country, Americana, blues and rock.” The recently released “Calling All Cars” is a “Song That Needs To Be On Your Radar” according to Whiskey Riff who concludes, “if you aren’t listening to The Droptines, you really need to change that.”

Each song released exemplifies the band’s alt-trajectory, a “beatnik-like itinerary of a lost soul’s activity” (Saving Country Music). With a forthcoming project on the horizon, the band is readying new music entrenched in a southern vernacular – ultimately writing and performing the type of songs they want to hear most.

Set to play Whiskey Myers’ Moon Crush “Whiskey Moon” festival today, the fiercely authentic band will continue to take their rollicking sound across the country in their repurposed silver school bus-turned-tour bus further cementing their beatnik-like lifestyle and ethos. The Droptines are set to headline throughout the rest of the year. For more information and full tour routing, please visit thedroptines.com.

ABOUT THE DROPTINES

Austin-based band The Droptines live wildly between the lines of Americana and rock and roll – what they dub alternative Americana. Newly signed to Big Loud Texas, the band made their label introduction with the release of “Take Too Much.” Their artistry is defined by lead singer Conner Arthur’s vocal growl and reminiscent of The Droptines most pointed influences like rock heroes Tom Petty and James McMurty. Working with lauded producer and Big Loud Texas co-founder and president of A&R Jon Randall, the gritty band is prepping new music entrenched in a southern vernacular – writing and performing the songs they want to hear most. Defined by a “beatnik-like itinerary of a lost soul’s activity” (Saving Country Music), The Droptines are set to headline throughout the rest of the year following a stint on the road with Whiskey Myers and Dwight Yoakam.
