NASHVILLE, TENN. / AUSTIN, TEXAS  – Living wildly between the lines of Americana and rock and roll, today gritty Big Loud Texas band The Droptines release Calling All Cars” – their second song out via the label. The new track is a rendition of the Mike McClure Band’s 2008 song.

“’Calling All Cars’ is a tune that everyone in the band has been obsessed with for some time, it’s an honor to be able to put new ears on what Mike and Adam created together awhile back,” The Droptines share.

Written by Mike McClure and Adam Odor, The Droptines’ “Calling All Cars” was produced by Jon Randall and Jacob Sciba at Arlyn Studios in Austin, Texas. “Calling All Cars” builds on the momentum of recent Take Too Much that Billboard noted as “a primal fusion of country, Americana, blues and rock.” Both songs are defined by lead singer Conner Arthur’s vocal growl – and the band’s most pointed influences like rock heroes Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty.

After the release of “Take Too Much,” Whiskey Riff concluded – “The Droptines are undeniably country, but the heavier guitar tones and gritty vocals from lead singer Conner Arthur give the band a harder edge.” Both releases exemplify the band’s alt-trajectory, a “beatnik-like itinerary of a lost soul’s activity” (Saving Country Music). Working on their forthcoming project, the band is readying new music entrenched in a southern vernacular – ultimately writing and performing the type of songs they want to hear most.

Recently performing at BMI’s Rooftop On The Row during AMERICANAFEST, the band will continue to take their rollicking sound and irreverent lyrics on tour across the country in their repurposed silver school bus-turned-tour bus further cementing their beatnik-like lifestyle and ethos. Recently wrapping a stint on the road with Whiskey Myers, Dwight Yoakam and a Lollapalooza billing, The Droptines are set to headline throughout the rest of the year.
